Nature's Song
When all the world around is gray,
the birds and flowers light up the day.
These messengers of hope and cheer,
delight the heart and make it clear,
though nature's harsh, its beauty glows,
a candle in a world of woes.
The ancient trees so strong steadfast,
ephemeral frost that cannot last,
a crashing ocean, raging sea,
a placid pond, the mist on lea
refreshing falls upon the mind,
inspiring all who see in kind.
Beauty is a soothing respite
from fear and pain. An opiate
imbuing music in the core
creates a force, an open door
to something new and wonderful...
enlightenment intangible.
